Travelling Tip for Peaceful Pets

Mar 12, 2013 by

www.jamesandshilo.comWe travel with our border collie, Taz, across Canada and the US in the summertime and here in Mexico in the wintertime.

Proactive measures are necessary to ensure that he enjoys the trip(s) as much as we do.

This is “a travelling must-do” if you have cats or dogs.

More learning opportunities ~

  • Filming with pets is difficult. Taz was a willing participant for these (many!) video takes though, because I bribed him with his favorite treats!
  • Filming outside was fun – that is our next door neighbor’s tree behind me, which we love.
  • My amazing video photographer/director stood inside my bedroom and I sat on our deck chair just outside the window to get the shot right! Ah, the joys of logistics.
  • Making videos with a friend is even more helpful than I initially realized. In essence, each video is made as if  only one person is viewing it, so having Linda to talk to is a great way to personalize the message. A “private conversation” helps me share my message in a more loveable, approachable manner.
  • Making videos is great if you are an introvert and don’t like speaking to large crowds because, as I mentioned above, the video is – in essence – made for one person. It’s just viewed by many.
