Fabric adventures

James and I have arranged for the groomsmen to be suited up in Tuxedos – Alfred Sung – they look very stunning! We were originally thinking we would go with suit and tie, but we reformed our choice! The men will have their fittings done within the next week or so. They will be in a black… oh, let’s just keep that a special secret!!! <grin>

I went fabric shopping with my girlfriend Kari who is a brilliant seamstress. We have the fabric for the bridesmaids shawls/sashes and she is whipping them up this week! They are stunning – I know my bridesmaids will love them! :>

James and I went to the community office at Lake Chaparral this morning and I am happy to announce that we have confirmed our time for photos in front of the waterfalls there. It is a truly stunning location and I happen to be very partial to waterfalls!

Thank goodness for bridal checklists – I sent the dates of all of the events to the wedding party (bridesmaids and groomsmen) for the rehearsal dinner and rehearsal at the church, photos, the ceremony, both receptions and the open house/gift opening on Sun June 29th. All we need to do is confirm the times with our 2 photographers.

Mom mentioned this morning on the phone that Kim and Cathie are connecting on Monday to do some additional planning for my first wedding shower which is only 3 weekends away! WOW – time goes by so quickly!

We have staked out the backyard for the upcoming deck-building project!! James and I paced everything out, as we have decided to do one large stone patio, instead of two smaller ones. It actually works out great – I can’t wait for it to be built the weekend of the 24th and for you to see it next month!! We also ran the underground sprinkler system this morning to ensure that our adventures with the sod cutter this weekend didn’t uproot anything permanent! Miraculously, the sprinklers fall just beyond the patio area – it is SO perfect, you would think we planned it that way!! Plus, a friend of ours owns a bobcat and is going to come over and take out all of the soil under the stone patio to ensure there will not be any heaving season to season – another amazing and effortless piece of the puzzle. All we need is sunshine (or at least dry grass!!). So, please do a sun dance for us if you feel inspired!

xoxo Shilo & James
